Soul diva Chaka Khan adds, “music comes easily to Gary”. When asked about the musicians in his piano trio, Cy Coleman replied, “Gary Haase is my leſt hand, I don’t make a move without him”.

Gary Haase

Known in the industry as a quadruple threat, Gary Haase is a musician, composer, producer and recording artist. Breaking onto the New York music scene in his early twenties, Gary began working with jazz giants. Buddy Rich, Red Rodney, Bucky Pizzarelli, while building a carrier as a studio musician alongside, Bernard Purdie,David Spinozza, John Tropea and others. Soon more gigs came with Noel Pointer, Gato Barbieri, Larry Carlton,Ronnie Laws, Phoebe Snow, Phyllis Hyman,Jennifer Holiday and at twenty five, Gary began a long career working with Chaka Khan, first as bassist, then music director and then producer. Gary’s performance career enabled him to pursue his composing and producing. Not long aſter Gary was singed as a writer and producer to Warner Chapel Music. Remembering those times Gary would say” I would be in the studio from 10 till 7 then go do a broadway show till 11”. During this fruitful period Gary wrote and produced for everyone from Celine Dion ,Hall and Oates, and Michael Bolton to Patti LaBelle, Maxwell and Earth, Wind and Fire. Always keeping a foothold in jazz, Gary continued his work with Grover Washington Jr. Ramsey Lewis, George Benson, Chaka Khan and Cy Coleman. Currently Gary still wears many hats, dividing time between writing, producing and performing. In addition Gary is a signed recording artist with GPR Records, and oversees various projects. His new release is called Classical Jazz. Here Mr. Haase has taken classical themes and performed them in ‘non classical styles’. Mr. Haase produced on Celine Dions Grammy winning Album of the year, Falling into You and produced Randy Breckers Grammy winning 34th and Lex.
